This blog is about my Pondicherry trip which I went with my office colleagues on 23rd and 24th June.Well, we all needed a break from work, so decided to go to Pondicherry to unwind from the daily routine.
We had chartered a bus which would take us to Pondicherry and back.
We boarded the bus on 22nd nite at 9.30 p.m. from office.We had a short stop for dinner at a place called Attibele on the Karnataka-TN border.We reached Pondicherry at 6.45 a.m. the next day and since we had to check in at Hotel Surguru ( the hotel where we had booked for our stay) only at 8, we spent some time on the beach adjoining MG road pondicherry.MG road is a road so named because of Gandhiji's statue on the beach facing the road, beside which there is a war memorial.
We checked into Hotel Surguru, a few kms away from MG road and close to the Aurobindo Ashram.After breakfast,we set off to see some french colonies and after that did some shopping on Mission street and Nehru street - both shopping centres which resemble linking road of Bandra,Mumbai and MG/Brigade roads of Bangalore.
We had our lunch at Appachi, a chettinad restaurant and after that went to see the Aurobindo Ashram.The ashram has a very peaceful and serene atmosphere which transports you to peace and tranquility.Unfortunately, no photographs are allowed inside the ashram, so I could take pictures only of the outside .From there, we went to the beach and since we had not a wink of sleep the previous day on the bus, we came back to the hotel, had dinner and went to bed.
Early the next day,we checked out of the hotel by 10 a.m. and went to Paradise Beach Resort, a beach resort near pondicherry.There we spent the whole day playing games like beach volleyball, beach football or just loitering around on the beach.We had lunch at the resort itself following which we went to a small lake which is owned by the beach resort.Here you can hire boats and spend half an hour on the lake rowing.After spending a fun day,we got onto the bus at 6 p.m. for Bangalore with a brief halt for dinner. We arrived in Bangalore at 5 a.m. because we had to report for work that day itself.
So thus ended my trip to pondicherry.

Hotel surguru is a star hotel with rooms which can be shared by 3 people.The advantage of this hotel is its proximity to the beach and the ashram, both of which r walkable distance.
